Ktistades mountain settlement
Ktistades is a picturesque mountain settlement in Arta region and a year-round Slow Travel destination for all nature lovers.
Ktistades is built at an altitude of 730 meters and has less than 150 permanent residents.
The stone-built settlement is named after the craftsmen living and working in the area of Arta and Epirus region, at the beginning of the 20th century.

The National Park of Tzoumerka
The National Park of Tzoumerka is to be found 5 km from Ktistades, occupies an area of about 820 km2 and its hiking path network allows the traveller to explore the area Slow, on foot and admire the spectacular morphology of the Tzoumerka area.
There are about 145 bird species living here, as the Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetus) & Vulture (Gyps fulvus), hundreds of fish, reptiles and amphibians, and rare butterfly species.
A lot of rare and endemic species of plants are growing in this area, where the Otter, the Brown bear, and the Wild Goat presence indicate the ecosystem biodiversity found in the National Park of Tzoumerka.
