A footpath in the Pierian Mountains

The Path of Love is a 5-kilometer-long footpath, family-friendly in the Pierian Mountains, in Central Macedonia.

The Paths of Love footpath starts from the chapel of Agia Paraskevi in Ano Milia Pierias, 25 km from Katerini and 99km from Thessaloniki and reaches an altitude of 1000 meters.

During this 1,5-hour forest walk, you will cross beautiful wooden bridges, a playground, various tree species (several trees have a label with their species name), a small waterfall, and enjoy the sounds of nature.

A child-friendly footpath

The Paths of Love footpath is ideal for families with small children as it is easy to walk the signed footpath. The trail offers an easy and enjoyable walk, stretching 700 meters through a forest of beech, chestnut, oak, and fir trees.
Along the way, a picturesque wooden bridge enhances the fairy-tale scenery, while near the church, a mountain spring with crystal-clear, drinkable water provides a refreshing stop for visitors. Further on you can either reach the Mountain refuge of E.O.S Katerini, where you can arrange your visit and lunch/dinner overlooking Pieria (+30 2351023102) or take your way back to Ano Milies.

How to reach Milies & the Path of Love?

To reach Milies in Pieria from Thessaloniki, take the A1 (E75) highway towards Katerini. After approximately an hour’s drive (about 80 km), take the exit towards Katerini and follow the signs for Elatochori. From there, continue on the winding mountain roads towards Milies, enjoying the scenic forested landscape. The journey takes around 1.5 hours by car. If traveling by public transport, you can take a bus from Thessaloniki to Katerini and then a taxi or local transport to Milies.
