The E4 European Long Distance Path is an extensive hiking trail of approximately 10,450 km(11.773km including all detours and alternatives) that begins in Tarifa, Spain and ends in Larnaca, Cyprus.
This remarkable route crosses several countries, including France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece and Cyprus, offering hikers a variety of paths, natural and historic landscapes.

Within Greece, the E4 covers approximately 1,832 kilometres, starting at the Bulgarian border at Promachonas and ending at Kato Zakros in Crete. - Best time to walk: The ideal time to walk the E4 in Greece is from early May to the end of October. Spring arrives earlier in the southern parts of Greece, around April, but in the northern regions and at higher altitudes it may not start until June or even July. In particular, mountains such as Mount Olympus can retain snow until mid-June, so walkers should plan accordingly.
The summit of Mount Olympus, Skolio Peak, at 2,911 metres, is the highest point along the entire route.

The southern part of the route (Peloponnese and Crete) is relatively easier than the northern part and can be walked all year round due to the milder climate. It is important to note that some of the villages along the route are uninhabited during the winter, so accommodation options are limited.
